Kenneth G. Brill
Founder, Uptime Institute Kenneth G. Brill is the Founder of the Uptime Institute and the Site Uptime Network in North America and EMEA. Many data center industry innovations over the last 25 years trace back to his original concepts including dual power, the industry's Tier system for evaluating and classifying data center facility performance, and IT/facility energy efficiency and productivity measurement. Mr. Brill's research into the Economic Meltdown of Moore's Law, Data Center Productivity and Energy Efficiency, and IT's declining economics form core knowledge needed by corporate leaders charged with business performance, profitability, and sustainability.
With McKinsey & Company as a knowledge partner, he has formulated and is now promulgating Corporate Average Data Center Efficiency (CADE) and Site Analytics Validate Effectiveness (SAVE) initiatives. These are concrete and comprehensive programs for radically cutting data center OpEx, CapEx, energy consumption, and carbon footprint in the immediate short term (18 months) by benchmarking and controlling IT and Facility energy consumption.
Mr. Brill received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 from Datacentre Dynamics in London. He holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Redlands and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
