Mr Acton was previously part of Dell's Infrastructure Consulting Services (ICS) business as a Global Solutions Architect and was a Consultant for Intel Solution Services, providing subject-matter expertise and consultancy in the broad field of data center management and operations. He was also a VP of Microsoft Service Delivery for Exodus, and a Director of Datacenter Operations for Digital Island. |

He has more than 30 years experience in executive-level operations, marketing, and sales management, much of it in the electrical and electronics field. He has held top-level posts with industry leaders such as General Electric, Eaton, and Powerware. He is a leading figure in the electrical power industry, having co-founded the Washington DC-based Critical Power Coalition, and served on numerous industry and corporate boards. Mr Ascolese is a graduate of the University of Louisville, and of General Electric's Crotonville Executive Management Training program and Duke University's Fuqua School of Executive Education. |

Don Beaty founded DLB Associates Consulting Engineers in 1980. The firm is active globally and has provided services for datacom facilities in over 35 states. DLB has designed all Google-owned data centers worldwide. Beyond DLB, Mr Beaty was Chair of ASHRAE Technical Committee TC 9.9 (mission critical facilities, technology spaces, & electronic equipment) from its inception through June 2006. Mr Beaty's interest in educating the industry about ASHRAE being the unbiased source of data center cooling material has resulted in his publishing over 50 technical papers and articles. He also is a frequent presenter on the subject, having presented in 26 countries on the topic of data center cooling. Mr Beaty is currently Publications Chair of TC 9.9. Previously, Mr Beaty served on ASHRAE TC 90.1 (energy standards committee) from 1993 to the present, serving in various roles and as Vice-Chair. |

Christian Belady is the General Manager for Datacenter Advanced Development in Microsoft's Global Foundation Services (GFS), where he is responsible for driving research and advanced development of technologies for broad scale adoption in Microsoft's data centers. GFS supports over 200 Microsoft online services for consumers and businesses worldwide. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Hardware Architecture in the Extreme Computing Group at Microsoft Research where he led a team that explored hardware opportunities related to the future of client plus cloud computing. He started his career at Microsoft in 2007 as Microsoft's Principal Infrastructure Architect for Global Foundation Services to improve both efficiency and cost in their online services infrastructure. Mr Belady's responsibilities have included driving initiatives for sustainability in the data center and infrastructure space, and he was one of the key architects for the company's next-generation modular data centers. |

Joseph Bondi is the Director of Business and Solution Strategy at Ni2. Steve Bowes-Phipps is the Data Centers Manager at the University of Hertfordshire and has over 17 years of operational systems management experience, specifically managing data centers since 1996. After a stint managing data centers and IT operations in the UK and Ireland, he joined ambitious web hosting company GlobalCenter who were expanding from the US into Europe. Sitting on the senior management team, Mr Bowes-Phipps oversaw the building of five data centers in London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich and Paris until Exodus Internet bought the company in 2001. Mr Bowes-Phipps has authored and is driving forward a world-leading methodology for sustainable ICT processes. |

Mark Bramfitt is a consultant promoting successful engagements between the information technology and utility industries by focusing on energy efficiency and demand-side management opportunities. Mr Bramfitt is leveraging his expertise and knowledge gained at Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Company, where he was responsible for designing and delivering programs and services to help PG&E's customers manage their energy use in the high tech, biotech and healthcare industry segments. He was also charged with strategic engagement with the high tech industry with regard to technology evaluation, and new opportunities related to "smart grid" deployment. Under Mr Bramfitt's leadership, PG&E developed a utility industry-leading program portfolio for data centers and information technology infrastructure, including training and education, technical support, and financial incentives and rebates. For 2010 through 2012, the programs for data centers alone are expected to deliver over 25 megawatts of peak energy demand reduction, with a program budget of over $50 million. |

Rami Branitzky is Senior Vice President of Sustainability Management and Strategy at SAP, where he is responsible for defining and executing SAP’s sustainability strategy – both for SAP’s internal performance and for its solutions, which enable customers to achieve greater sustainability performance. He also ensures the execution of the sustainability strategy across all functions within SAP. Mr Branitzky represents SAP on boards of multiple thought leadership organizations such as the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Churchill Club and SD Forum. Mr Branitzky has an MBA in Information Systems and Marketing from the Stern School of Business, New York University. Mr Branitzky also served in the Israeli Defense Forces, Infantry Communications and Electronics branch. |

Orlando J. Castro is Program Manager – Data Center Facilities Services and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) at Kaiser Permanente. He has over 20 years of experience in the facilities engineering industry. As an ITIL-certified professional, Mr Castro chairs the Critical Facilities Council, governing the facilities operations at Kaiser Permanente’s National Data Centers, including programs such as Global Risk Management, Abnormal Condition Reporting, Critical Awareness and Critical Facilities Work Authorization. For the past decade, Phil served as Executive Vice President, Operations, for European colocation provider Interxion, building and operating 26 data centerss across 11 European countries. Renee Collins is a Project Engineer for Lee Technologies Services, a Schneider Electric company. Ms Collins has eight plus years of experience in the design and construction industry including direct responsibilities with managing and documenting LEED Commercial Interiors (CI) projects. Prior to joining Lee Technologies, Ms Collins was an Interior Architect and designed multiple mission critical and commercial interior spaces for Time Warner Cable, Oracle, Harris Corporation, Thales and the U.S. Government. Brendan Doorhy is Director of Software Systems Research for Panduit Corporation, where he leads the team responsible for developing differentiated, software centric solutions for the data center, industrial automation and connected building industries. Prior to his current position within Panduit, Mr Doorhy was responsible for engineering development in the Managed Network Systems Division and Rack Systems Division, where he contributed to launching Panduit’s IT Cabinet product line. Mr Doorhy has also held positions with Red Fusion Studios, a product development consulting firm, and Motorola. Tom Dorwart is Enterprise Technology Center Manager at Cabela’s, the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear and has held a variety of leadership, management, and strategic roles in the network, server and services side during his 25 years of service. Mr Dorwart currently serves as the company’s Enterprise Technology Center Manager in which he is responsible for all aspects of the corporation’s critical space; from design to operation and includes their corporate locations, retail stores and distribution centers. David W. Dunn is the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Marketing for CoreSite. He focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction, managing CoreSite’s products and sales engineering, developing CoreSite’s corporate strategy, and finding new business development opportunities. In addition to his current role, Mr Dunn has also served as CoreSite’s head of sales and as an individual sales contributor. Since 2004, he has been directly involved in sourcing, negotiating and closing data center agreements totaling nearly $500 million in contracted value. Mr Dunn graduated magna cum laude from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics and is currently an MBA candidate at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. |

He has authored more than 50 papers on topics ranging from HVAC and CRAC control, to indoor air quality and cooling optimization. Mr Federspiel is the recipient of the Ralph G. Nevins Physiology and Human Environment Award from ASHRAE, and holds numerous patents in the field. Andrew Feldman is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder at SeaMicro. Mr Feldman was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Crosslink Capital and at US Venture Partners. Before that, he was Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Force10 Networks, where he was responsible for marketing, product management, and business development. Prior to joining Force10, Mr Feldman was Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Corporate Development for Riverstone Networks (Acquired by Alcatel) from inception through IPO. Thomas Fisher is a former Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) Climate Corp Fellow at Staples who currently works for Salesforce.com as a Sustainability Analyst. Mr Fisher has worked on efficiency projects his entire career, from operations consulting to energy management. Mr Fisher feels that energy efficiency is one of the best ways to kick-start sustainability initiatives, and he enjoys working with stakeholders to integrate sustainability into the core fabric of organizations. Prior to his data center work with EDF Climate Corps and Staples, he worked with the Goodwill to help them find energy efficiency opportunities in their retail stores, processing centers and warehouses in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr Fisher is a recent graduate of Presidio Graduate School with an MBA in sustainable management. |

Justin Fitzhugh is the VP of Engineering Operations for the Mozilla Corporation. He responsible for all Mozilla’s production and corporate infrastructure, including serving the Firefox product to more than 400 million users. In addition to Firefox distribution, his team designs, implements and supports the infrastructure for one of the largest open source organizations in the world. Prior to Mozilla, Mr Fitzhugh managed Macromedia’s global data center environment. |

William Forrest is a Partner with McKinsey & Company’s Business Technology Office, where he serves as one of McKinsey's experts on IT and Operations strategy development and implementation. He works with CIOs to develop innovative strategies and to manage complex change programs such as transformational outsourcing/off-shoring, major systems development and infrastructure architectures. Additional areas of specialty include design and build of carbon and energy-efficient IT systems. He is one of the leaders of McKinsey's Climate Change Special Initiative and works with product/business management of technology organizations. Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr Forrest was a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting in their financial services technology practice, where he helped lead and establish their infrastructure management group. Before that he was Director of Business Development at AAC Associates, a Department of Defense and White House technology provider in Washington, DC. |

Bob Gilligan is Vice President of GE Energy Services' Digital Energy business and an officer of the General Electric Company. Mr Gilligan is leading the charge to bring GE to the forefront of smarter grid technologies. Mr Gilligan began his GE career in 1990 with the Healthcare business where he held a series of assignments in service operations and global product management. Matt Stansberry, Director of Content and Publications for Uptime Institute, has reported on the convergence of technology, facility management and energy issues in the data center since 2003. He launched SearchDataCenter.com in 2005 and managed that site and multiple other Tech Target properties as Editorial Director of the company's data center and virtualization media group. He is currently developing unbiased, actionable resources for data center owners and operators to improve data center management, address changing regulations, and to advise on new equipment and standards. Additionally Stansberry is responsible for expanding the Uptime Institute’s outreach to other industry organizations and assisting in the content development of events, such as the Uptime Institute Symposium, and a new series of multimedia presentations on pressing industry issues. |

Dr Robert Sullivan is widely recognized for originating the concepts now known as hot and cold aisle cooling and was with Uptime Institute as a senior consultant on computer and data center cooling challenges for more than 10 years following his career at IBM. Dr Sullivan's pioneering work in computer room environments, and especially in the area of cooling and air flow, has had a major impact on the industry. Dr Sullivan has been intimately involved in the diagnosis and solution of conductive contamination problems in computer rooms and is recognized as the leading authority throughout the world on the subject. He was part of the team that identified the phenomenon of zinc whisker contamination. He has also done testing and consulting in the area of seismic bracing of equipment and facilities, including co-authoring a paper reviewing a wide variety of equipment tethering techniques. |

A career-long print, broadcast and Web journalist, Mr Taylor has been writing, editing, publishing, and conference providing on information technology topics since the very early ‘80s. Michael Tresh is Director of Product Management for Viridity Software and for the past two years has been responsible for working with customers and Viridity engineers to develop data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software products that quickly, easily and accurately expose wasted server power in order to drive-up data center availability, efficiency and optimization. Prior to joining Viridity, Mr Tresh held the position of Director, Data Center Business Unit with Wright Line LLC, (acquired by Eaton Corporation) where he developed rack and airflow management products to increase energy efficiency and eliminate data center waste. Before Wright Line, Mr Tresh spent ten years at American Power Conversion Corporation (APC), on the device management team where he developed the communications tools for APC PDUs, UPSs and in-row cooling units. From 1993-2005, he was a senior consultant and principal for Uptime Institute Professional Services (UIPS). Byron Washom is the Director of Strategic Energy Initiatives at the University of California-San Diego, where he leads the university's efforts to establish a highly innovative energy plan that will not only ensure that UC San Diego is able to meet both its current and future energy requirements in the most environmentally sustainable, cost-effective manner, but also serve as a premier example to institutions internationally. Frank Wolak, PhD, is the Holbrook Working Professor of Commodity Price Studies in the Economics Department and the Director of the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development at Stanford University. He received his undergraduate degree from Rice University, and an SM in Applied Mathematics and a PhD in Economics from Harvard University. His fields of research are energy and environmental economics. He is the author of numerous academic articles on these topics. Dr Wolak is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Visiting Researcher at the University of California Energy Institute in Berkeley. From April of 1998 to April 2011, he was Chairman of the Market Surveillance Committee (MSC) of the California Independent System Operator. Patrick Yantz is Senior Director of Modular Datacenter Engineering at SGI, where he is responsible for the vision, strategy, and scaling of the SGI modular data center business. He began his career in Silicon Valley as a server and network engineer in the hosting services space, participating in the data center evolution. Mr Yantz transitioned to Microsoft and spent 10 years in numerous realms from data center operations to architecting and engineering globally deployable modular data center systems for Microsoft. As founder of the ITPAC program, Mr Yantz piloted the world’s first modular data center requiring no chilled water, with outside air as the primary means of cooling.
