Bernd Klusmann
Project Manager Technologies, Green IT Project Advisory Office, BITKOMBernd Klusmann is Project Manager-Technologies at the Green IT Project Advisory Office at BITKOM, Germany's Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media. The office, established by BITKOM in cooperation with and funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, provides a forum for users and providers of Green IT technologies and markets the funding program within Germany. It assists in the generation of ideas for Green IT projects and in applying for federal funding programs for innovative and eco-efficient IT solutions. Project proposals aiming at the federal funding program are reviewed and evaluated.
BITKOM is the voice of the information technology, telecommunications, and new media industry in Germany. BITKOM represents more than 1,300 companies, including practically all German global players as well as 600 key midsize companies. BITKOM's membership generates a sales volume of 135 billion Euros annually. BITKOM thus represents 90 percent of the German ICT market.
Before joining the Green IT Advisory Office at BITKOM, Mr Klusmann was project manager, the last nine years with EANTC, European Advanced Networking Test Center, and before at T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom's corporate-customer unit. At internationally well-known EANTC, he managed objective, vendor-neutral network testing, benchmarking and consulting projects in next generation broadband networks for manufacturers, service providers and large enterprises. At T-Systems, Mr Klusmann focused on sales support and project management in implementing ICT solutions for customers world-wide as well as on establishing a company-wide project management office. Mr Klusmann has served as a Judge for the Uptime Institute Green Enterprise IT Awards since 2010.
