Dave Mulholland joined PDI in 1999 as the Director of Marketing, and since then has been through a number of important changes internally and in the marketplace as PDI has grown. PDI expanded dramatically with the Internet bubble in 2000, and as the data center business sharply dropped off, PDI realigned itself to become more than just a data center power distribution business. This growth began in 2004 with the introduction of PDI to the rack cabinet business due to a strategic alliance with Wright Line, and has continued as PDI has discovered other opportunities serving power solutions to the IT side of data centers.
In 2007, PDI was acquired by Bertram Capital has prompted another wave of organic growth and growth through acquisition. Bertram added Marelco to the power platform with its acquisition in 2008, and these two businesses have been successfully integrated to continue to build the market presence of PDI. In 2008, PDI acquired Onyx Power out of Costa Mesa and continued to expand their products line and capabilities.
