About the Green Enterprise IT Awards
The Green Enterprise IT (GEIT) Awards are the Uptime Institute's highest honor.
The Institute grants these Awards to projects, ideas, and products that significantly improve energy productivity and resource use in IT.
The Awards are open to applicants in all countries and are carefully judged by a committee of independent experts. Award winners will be announced at the high-profile Uptime Institute IT Symposium in New York in May 2010.
A principal objective of the GEIT Awards is to educate the data center and IT industries in effective ways to reduce energy consumption by highlighting innovation and best practices. Winners and finalists are provided with a platform to share their experiences and insights at the Uptime Symposium and through follow-on information programs, and receive peer recognition and significant public relations recognition through media coverage of the Institute Awards.The Institute invites applications in the following categories:

- Facilities Innovation
- Best Facilities Product

- Joint IT/Facilities Innovation

- Hosting, Co-Location, Cloud, or Managed Services
The application period for the 2010 GEIT Award Program opens November 30, 2009. Completed applications must be submitted by 11:55 pm MST, March 1, 2010.
