Lex Coors
Vice President, Datacenter Technology & Engineering Group, InterxionAs Interxion's VP, Group Data Centre Technology & Engineering, Lex Coors has supervised the design, build and upgrade of over 56,000m² of data centre space in 28 locations in 11 countries. Over the past 25 years he has built exceptionally strong credentials in the design of versatile, cost-effective and energy-efficient data centre infrastructure.
Mr Coors studied Mechanical Engineering and then Management and Economics in Rotterdam. During his time with Interxion, he has pioneered several new approaches to data centre design and management, including the improvement of power ratio efficiency between server load and transformer load, and the industry's first ever modular approach to data centre architecture.
Mr Coors is a founder member of the Uptime Institute EMEA, a member of the European Commission DG Joint Research Committee on Sustainability, is taking a position at the Green Grid's Technical Committee and the European Data Centre Code of Conduct Metrics Group. Further, he was a member of the Executive Advisory Board for the Uptime Institute for their symposium in New York in April 2010 "Data Center Efficiency & Green Enterprise IT" awards program. Mr. Coors has served as a judge for the prestigious Uptime Institute Green Enterprise IT Awards since its inception in 2008, and has chaired the Judges' panel since 2009.
