Jason Schafer

Jason Schafer joined Tier1 Research in August 2008 as a Senior Analyst covering data center technology, construction and engineering. Mr Shafer has 14 years of experience in the mission-critical facilities field, including service in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and as a data center commissioning specialist for Lee Technologies, where he managed datacenter projects for customers such as the US Army, the US Patent & Trademark Office, Verizon, Comcast and Interactive Data Corporation. Mr Schafer was also Lee Technologies' technical training manager, developing data center technical training programs for internal use and for customers such as Microsoft.

Mr Schafer attended North Carolina State University, where he studied Electrical Engineering. He is a certified infrared thermographer, and received his certification as a qualified commissioning process provider from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Mr Schafer is serving as an Uptime Institute Green Enterprise IT Awards judge in 2011.
