Maximizing Data Center Efficiency and Infrastructure Management in a 21st Century Economy
Presenter: Stephen C. Hassell, President, Avocent Corporation, a division of Emerson Network PowerMonday, May 17
1:30-2:00 pm, Sutton Complex
Data center infrastructure is constantly evolving due to the fact that IT systems are becoming smaller and faster. As a result, increases in computer room and data center density and diversity are driving changes in power and cooling systems. Business critical servers and communications devices depend on these systems for their performance and reliability. This evolution - at a time when energy costs continue to skyrocket - is creating increasingly complex data center environments in organizations of every size. Thus, the need for greater efficiency is paramount. This session will provide an inside look at how organizations can improve availability and energy efficiency (Energy Logic), identify the gaps that need to be filled in the infrastructure from the Hypervisor down to the grid, and discuss lessons learned from the Emerson Data Center.
