Harkeeret (Harqs) Singh is Global Head of Energy & Sustainable Technology at Thomson Reuters. He is seen as the Energy 'Czar' and one of the main enablers of a greener and more sustainable future for the company. In his role Mr. Singh is responsible for energy efficiency and sustainability across the Markets division, including Data Centres, Servers, Storage, Network and Desktop.
Mr. Singh has been working within the industry specifically looking at data centers and IT in both Europe and the US for some time, particularly in the pursuit of advancing energy efficiency principles and working across traditional boundaries to achieve 'holistic' efficiency. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters in August 2009 he held a variety of roles at BT, including Head of Data Centre Strategy.
At Thomson Reuters, Mr. Singh is responsible for industry engagement around energy optimization, liaising with The Green Grid, ASHRAE, the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres and the US EPA/DoE energy efficiency initiatives and many other forums across the industry. He is also a lead representative for Global Climate Change Policies - UK CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, ACES (American Clean Energy & Security Act) and others across the world.
Mr. Singh holds a BSc in Computer Science and Business Management from the University of Birmingham and numerous awards, including a Strategy Award from Accenture.
