Capital constraints and environmental responsibility have positioned efficiency top of mind in the planning, construction and operation of today’s data centers. Operators are making concerted efforts to do more with the power they have or limiting the power they need by improving the ratio of power for IT load over that which is needed to support it. Recent legislation and energy programs have been designed specifically to promote and reward this behavior. Advancements in data center management and automation systems give real-time view into a data centers performance against design goals. The systems allow for the optimization of the facility where performance is continually assessed.
